Uma seguidora lá no Instagram (Muito obrigada!) me indicou e peguei para ler o e-book A Janela do Meio da autora Elisabeth Goudge e lançado aqui no Brasil pela Editora O Clarim.
A obra foi feita e publicada em 1979 pela romancista inglesa e Wallace Leal traduziu e ocorreu o lançamento do livro em português.

A personagem principal passa habitar antiga moradia e, no contato com a paisagem e detalhes da casa, começa a recordar-se de vivência passada naquele lugar, há duzentos anos. A casa possui uma sala com três janelas, uma delas foi totalmente fechada em determinada época. Lembranças do passado em circunstâncias emocionantes revelam a razão do fechamento da janela.
O mesmo é um romance espírita considerado atual para a época, se passa em Glen Suilag, possui 3 grandes fases e tem Judy como protagonista. E sim! A história é narrada do fim para o começo. Mais precisamente da encarnação atual para a encarnação passada.
A primeira parte conta a história da família Cameron com o pai James, a mãe Lady, a própria Judy, um gato persa e a cadelinha Sarah e viviam em Londres. Além disso, Judy também tinha o noivo Charles.
Tudo estava dentro da rotina dos envolvidos em terras londrinas quando Judy encontra uma carta perdida para o seu pai e resolve abrir. Ali constava uma oferta de uma grande mansão a venda em um grande vale isolado no interior da Escócia e estava apenas assinado por I.C. Macdonald.
Automaticamente, brota um sentimento e curiosidade em Judy e todos decidem tirar férias no local. E a partir de então, o leitor passa a acompanhar o desenrolar dos fatos.
Inicialmente, Judy é atraida por uma janela no meio do casarão e um mix de sensações acontecem com a protagonista. E o mesmo vai se dando ao longo de todo o reconhecimento do local e da própria cidade. Durante os sonos, a moça se desprendia e retornava aos momentos vividos no lugar como Judith. Ou seja: Tentando entender suas questões, Judy e Judith estavam juntas e misturadas. Além disso, a protagonista ainda precisava lidar com o seu relacionamento e o surgimento da estreita amizade com Angus. Inclusive, é com ele que Judy começa a entender e a conhecer as histórias de Glen Suilag.
Já a segunda parte, se passa em 1745 e a história de Judith Macdonald propriamente dita. A mesma era casada com Ronald, não tinham filhos e nutriam um amor sem igual pela pacata cidade e também pela mansão em que viviam. Tudo estava indo bem para o simples casal quando surgiu a guerra.
A partir de então, Ronald participa dos acontecimentos, enquanto Judith fica em casa lidando com as situações e passa a contar com o auxílio irrestrito de Angus. Tudo estava, de certa forma, tranquilo até a chegada dos soldados a casa da mesma, principalmente em busca de Ronald. E com isso, surge o nome do livro e os motivos da janela do meio ser tão importante e decisiva na vida de todos.
Sem querer, Judith mata seu esposo e depois passa horas e dias esperando o retorno do marido olhando para….a janela do meio. Sem filhos e apenas com os empregados, a moça vai passando os anos da mesma forma. E depois disso, chegamos a terceira fase onde Judy se encontra na cidade em todos os aspectos. Decide largar tudo em Londres e também o relacionamento com Charles e se tornar moradora de Glen Suilag e fazer as pazes com a mansão e com a tão importante janela.
O livro também fala sobre perdão, a ligação entre passado e presente, o desapego, o entendimento para seguir em frente, o quanto pequenos detalhes interferem na nossa caminhada e o amor de várias vidas.
O texto é de fácil entendimento e a leitura é fluída e envolvente em todos os momentos. Você termina a obra e tem certeza que ela foi escrita recentemente. Além disso, é tão reflexivo e singelo ao mesmo tempo. Incrível.
