As histórias de Nico, Eurico e coronel Firmino se cruzam, mostrando que, eventualmente, o passado vem à tona e não há como fugir das consequências de nossos atos.
A obra é um romance espírita e mistura atualidade com vidas passadas e tem como cenário uma antiga mansão abandonada em Sertãozinho (interior de São Paulo) e o “folclore” que o dono desencarnado chamado Firmino ainda está preso no local.
Os herdeiros do mesmo decidem se mudar para o local, principalmente em função do filho Eurico e seus contínuos problemas de saúde.
Durante as reformas, o leitor conhece Antônio, mais conhecido como Nico. O menino é extremamente pobre, com muitos irmãos, o pai encostado e a mãe faz tudo que pode para ter comida em casa. Aos poucos, Nico vai se ambientando ao local, os funcionários e passa a ajudar no que for preciso.
Assim que a família chega, a ligação entre Eurico, Amelinha e Nico é instante e o trio passa a ser inseparável. Misturado a narrativa infantil, temos um quase triângulo amoroso composto pelo casal Norberto e Eulália e a irmã da mesma chamada Liana.
Tudo estava indo bem até Liana mudar de repente e começa a emagrecer a olhos vistos. O leitor descobre então que Eurico possui forte mediunidade ostensiva e consegue enxergar o coronel Firmino grudado na moça a impedindo de ter a sua vida.
A partir de então, inicia-se a saga para entendimento e esclarecimento de Firmino e das melhoras mediúnicas tanto de Liana quanto de Eurico. Apesar da idade, Nico é a ponte de equilíbrio entre os personagens, sempre ajudando emocional e espiritualmente, tanto que depois forma-se em psicologia.
A parte espiritual físico fica a cargo de Alberto que ajuda Liana a se reerguer e o doutor Marcílio, onde o mesmo sofre severos olhos grossos por ser um médico espiritualizado e tratar os pacientes de forma incomum.
O livro também aborda amor de outras vidas, a ignorância, o pré-conceito com a medicina aliada a Espiritualidade, a problemática da criação severa, o quanto os pensamentos influenciam na vida, a sabedoria mesmo sem estudo e conhecimento e os dons naturais que já nascem com o indivíduo.
O texto é de fácil entendimento e a leitura é mega fluída e envolvente. Vai terminar a obra querendo colocar Nico em um potinho. Para quem gosta de Espiritualidade e mediunidade na prática é uma ótima dica de leitura.
