Nos seis contos presentes nesta obra, são levantadas questões como o amor ao próximo, a lei de causa e efeito e a reencarnação. Histórias reais e comoventes abordam o suicídio, suas consequências aterradoras e implicações morais. Este livro demonstra a importância do Espiritismo como orientação para a vida e traz uma bela mensagem consoladora para os momentos de fragilidade e provação, sobretudo para os que buscam caminhar rumo à evolução espiritual.
São 6 histórias diferentes, sendo as 4 primeiras contadas pelo espírito Léon Tolstoi e inicia falando sobre obsessão, foi escrito por Léon Tolstoi, conta a história de Katia Andreevna e seu luto após a morte do marido. O mesmo, sem ter consciência do seu desencarne, pede ajuda contínua a esposa e ela move mundos e fundos para resgatá-lo no cemitério.
Já a segunda é sobre amor imortal, passa-se no fim da Grande Guerra, tem Natacha Anna Pavlovna como protagonista e aborda a forte ligação do mundo espiritual com o plano terreno. Indo para a terceira narrativa, fala sobre os destinos sublimes, tem a Mansão dos Lilaseiros na aldeia de K como cenário principal e narra os mistérios em torno da vida de Andrzej Semionovitch, onde o mesmo é solteiro e se refugiou na aldeia depois de complicações amorosas. A partir de então é mostrado toda sua saga com os moradores do local e sua evolução espiritual e moral.
A quarta história é sobre a Karla Alexeievna, onde a mesma trabalhava com educação e apreciava a cultura de modo intensa. Tudo ia bem até ela sofrer um acidente com cavalo e ficar com problemas nas pernas. Considerada inválida e sem muitos recursos de tratamento na época, Karla perdeu o seu futuro casamento e entrou para a igreja.
As últimas duas narrativas são discorridas pelo espírito Charles. A quinta história é sobre evolução, se passa nos anos 40 da era cristã e tem Sakaran e Lygia como protagonistas. Os dois se conhecem quando ela era bailarina e mostra as suas ligações da atual existência e de vidas passadas.
Por fim, a sexta e a maior história do livro é sobre Nina, se passa em Madrid e tem como protagonistas o conde Ramiro de Montalban e Nina. Sendo da corte, Ramiro mora em um palácio com vários empregados e vai a ópera quando conhece Nina. A partir de então, ocorre o entendimento mútuo e ela passa a ser sua protegida. Tudo estava bem quando ele vai viajar e por inveja e ciúmes, Nina cai em uma armadilha e é expulsa da moradia. Doente e sem meios para sustento, a moça torna-se uma mendiga até padecer com o desencarne.
O livro começa com uma narrativa lá no alto, literalmente com um boom, depois desce e torna-se constante até voltar ao topo com a situação de Nina. Uma montanha russa literária em todos os aspectos.
As histórias que mais me impactaram e me trouxeram a reflexão foram a primeira, quarta e a última. Nessas três é impossível não se emocionar, torcer e ficar pensando em como o ser humano pode ser tão cruel quando quer.
O texto é de fácil entendimento e a leitura é fluída, envolvente e em alguns momentos bem pensantes.
Apenas um trio para tirar o chapéu com histórias incríveis.
