A esperança é uma das mais extraordinárias forças que vibram no interior do homem. É ela que confere ânimo e faz brotar em nós a coragem para avançar e superar os obstáculos. Através deste romance, Lucius nos convida a testemunhar a experiência de homens e mulheres que enfrentaram seus desafios e viram a esperança renascer em seus corações, vivendo o momento histórico em que a revelação espírita acontecia por todo o mundo, despertando admiração em uns e desprezo em outros. O exemplo dos seus personagens abrem nossos olhos, incentivando-nos a aceitar a nós mesmos e aos que nos cercam. Dessa compreensão nasce naturalmente a compaixão e a tolerância, que nos possibilita deixar fluir o amor Divino. A caridade, que Jesus nos ensinou, é consequência.
O mesmo é um romance espírita antigo, nos primeiros passos do Espiritismo, se passa na Espanha e Emilie como protagonista. A mesma é bastante sensível, casada com Ricardo, onde tem uma filha chamada Cíntia e faz parte da família importante do local Bourbon e Valença.
A obra em si começa quando a moça tenta cometer suicídio após fugir do manicômio onde foi internada por estar sendo considerada louca. Durante sua tentativa, ouve a voz da filha e desiste, além de ser socorrida por Lucrécia, que é uma senhora marroquina que tem uma vida pacata ao lado do marido Jair na pacata cidade literônea.
A partir de então, o leitor passa a acompanhar o desenrolar dos fatos, o desvendar dos motivos de quem é aquela moça e o surgimento de uma forte amizade, lealdade e quitação de débitos de outras existências entre as duas. Com o passar dos dias, Emilie vai se entendendo espiritualmente, mediunicamente falando e emocionalmente e o quanto o equilíbrio dessa tríade é importante para a evolução do indivíduo, principalmente de quem tem muitas questões mal resolvidas e inacabadas a acertar.
Todos esses fatos e narrativa como um todo acontecem nos primeiros passos do Espiritismo e da mediunidade. A título de cronologia: Antes do lançamento do O Evangelho Segundo O Espiritismo e na mesma época da queima de livros em Barcelona.
Além da história em si de Emilie, se fica sabendo da família Bourbon e Valença e todo ranço de Isabel pela nora, além do seu controle excessivo com tudo, a forte ligação com a Igreja para questões de poder e outras questões escusas e o novo foco que torna-se Cíntia e sua forte sensibilidade, apesar da pouca idade.
O livro também fala sobre o dom para ser padre e outros tópicos religiosos, a intolerência religiosa, ignorância, pré-conceito, caridade, compromissos espirituais, mediunidade de forma geral e sem uma crença em específico e o amadurecimento emocional e espiritual da maioria dos envolvidos, em especial de Emilie.
As partes espirituais vão acontecendo ao longo de toda a história e ficam a cargo de Lucrécia e depois de Miguel que oferece todo o amparo para o crescimento mediúnico da protagonista.
O texto é de fácil entendimento e a leitura é mega fluída e envolvente. Você termina o livro querendo mais uma continuação e querendo colocar Lucrécia, Emilie e Cíntia em um potinho. Trilogia concluída com sucesso dessa dupla incrível e que deu muito match.
